I wanna do it again!

So the other night I went to see Circa Survive and Anberlin live with a few of my friends. Let me tell you, it was without a doubt the best night of my life.

My dad drove my friend and I to the concert hall. Doors opened at 7, which was about the time we got there, but the line was sooooo ridiculously long we had to wait outside for about 20-30 minutes before we actually got into the hall, and it was freezing outside. We didn't have winter jackets because we knew we would have no place to put them. As soon as we got inside my friend and I purchased some band merch (I bought an Anberlin shirt, because I already had a Circa Survive band shirt). Eventually my friend and I were able to catch up with the rest of our group.

Anyways, the opening act was "Foxy Shazam" which was a million different shades of fail. Picture a band of 70's hippies, with the glasses, the hair, and the bell-bottomed patterned pants, a creepy bald keyboard plater with a huge beard who played with his feet more than he did with his hands, and the lead singer, a super skinny twig with a pedo-stache, a voice that sounded like 'Fred' and tight red pants. Although the music was a thousand shades of awful, the bands shenanigans were fun to watch. At one point, Mr. Red Pants asked the audience for cigarrettes--when the crowd obliged, he grabbed about six or seven, lit them on fire, took a few puffs.....and GOBBLED them up---chewed and swallowed!! Anyways I had the pleasure of watching him swing from the rafters like a vampire bat, while attempting to rip his shirt off, and see a bunch of deranged dance moves. I honestly could write an entire post on these..err...lunatics, but I really don't want to!

MOVING ON.....

Anyways the real reason I came to the show was for Circa Survive and Anberlin. And let me tell you,  I was MORE than thrilled with their performance! Circa Survive performed first, and the concert hall went NUTS. The mosh pit was intense. There were so many people crowd-surfing it reminded me of being at an ocean, and I'm not trying to be a wise-ass. There actually were a ridiculous amount of crowd-surfers. Anthony Green (the lead singer of Circa) was actually encouraging it at one point, which was funny. I saw one girl surf her way up to Anthony at the very end of one of his songs, clamor for him, GRAB HIS FACE and hold it up to hers. Good for you girl-friend! Just remember this dude is married with a kid! The music really held up too, and I'm really happy they played my favorite Circa song, I Felt Free.

My camera basically ran out of batteries by the time it was Anberlin's turn, so I only got one (somewhat) good picture of Stephen Christian, but I guess it was a good thing because I got to enjoy the music instead of concentrating on taking pictures! Anberlin was my favorite part of the night, because I just love all of their music so SO much! Highlights of the set-list included: Paperthin Hymn,  the Feel Good Drag, Godspeed, Dismantle.Repair, and Impossible.

It was honestly an AMAZING experience. The energy of the crowd as well as the bands was something you can't imagine.  I'm so glad I was able to see the show!
