DIY Project-o && Kitty Cats :3 Meoww

So as I've been on break I've been working on that list I posted last time. I've been musicing, tetrising, chem-homeworking, I memorized the presidents (yet not the elements), APUSHing, and reading.

I got inspired by Michelle (of Glisters_and_Blisters) interview of Lexy who runs Quirky Explosions to start my own DIY project. I'm currently working on a skirt, and seeing that I do not own my own sewing machine, it should be done mid-march so I'll keep you posted. I also had fun skyping the other night with a friend of mine :) It was fun.

BUT, the biggest news I have to share is today, my sister and I adopted two adorable 7 month old kittens. They are both orange, with white tufts on the tail and they are brothers!  When we first opened up the pet carrier at home we (stupidly) did it in the kitchen, so they could see their litterbox. However, as soon as we opened the cage the one brother zooooomed into the cabinet with all the pots and pans, and his brother would nawt come out of the carrier!

(sorry for the crappy shot quality--I was so excited I couldn't focus on taking an actual good picture)

Eventually the second kitty joined its brother in the cabinet T.T It took us literally like an hour an a half of us attempting to coax it out with treats and food and toys before I finally got impatient and picked them up (gently of course) and carried them to the beds we had.

Now they are sleeping peacefully :3 and when we go out we're gonna play mozart for them and shtuff. ^^ They are so soft and lovely I love them already. Since we have two my sister and I each get to name one. I named the shyer one Nemo, and my sister named the other one Emmett.

And Nemo says Meow ^^

I'm on fire and now I think I'm ready to bust a move

Firstly I'd like to say thanks to my lovely followers! And second I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas. I'm Jewish so I really don't have much to report on for the past few days. I'm on vacation now (as I've previously mentioned) so I've devised a list of things to do in case I get stuck watching TV endlessly.

List of things to do over break:
1. Reading--The Crucible (which I've been assigned) and Wuthering Heights (Which I am reading for myself)
2. Clean out my closet and desk (done)
 3. Get more music (and enjoy it!)

(via google images)

(via emo-skater-0 @ deviantART.com)
 4. Tetris--just a few games ^_^
5. Online shopping--I feel the urge to buy stuff online

(Via littleblackcherry.co.uk)

6. I want to work on my novel,
7. Do some more art for my DA page
My DA Page
8. I also have several old metallicky bottle caps that I want to make a necklace or bracelet out of at some point.
9. Math and Chem Homeworks
10. Silly old APUSH reading
11. Memorize all the elements of the periodic table using Tom Lehrer's song

12. Re-memorize US presidents for APUSH
13. SAT studying?
14. Blogging of course ^_^
15. Paint my nails (I'm so shallow, I know)

(Via weheartit)
16. Get a haircut? (I badly need one).
17. Watch some more Pokemon episodes online!

Too many students took out the SLR cameras over break so there wasn't one left for me.  Well, what can you do, so I guess I'm not gonna get a lot of photography in over break.

Also, I have not gotten my kitten yet, but my parents are attempting to schedule appointments at shelters, so hopefully I'll have one soon :)

I hope you all continue to have a happy holiday!

VACATION

Oh my freakin goodness I am finally on break!
I am so so relieved!
 *brow wipe*

SO in photoshop we were supposed to find a tutorial and give it to the class (which I posted in a previous blog), but the person who went right before I was supposed to did the same exact one that I had planned on doing--which pissed me off. So then I had to tell my teacher and ask for an extension x_x. But the good news is that I found an even cooler one! How to apply Lomo effect to your pictures.
Here are some I did:

Before (via google images)

After!

It's a sweet effect. And pretty easy too. All you do is add a vignette, and increase the contrast of the red and green channels, and voila! And yeah my original photography (except the tiger one, there are no tigers in Upstate NY).

Oh and I watched Jennifer's Body today online. That movie is so whack o_O. If you haven't seen it don't waste your time. It ain't worth it.

I'm gliding down the dark lane of despair, the highway of despair

Well, kindsaa.
I was supposed to get my kitten today.

So my mom picked me up from school and then my sister, and we drove 40 minutes to the town where the shelter was. Anyways everything got messed up. There were only 2 kittens left in the litter, and they were really scratchy and ansty, and really not too cute. The people wouldn't even let us play with them x( cos apparently they had ringworm. So then we drove alllll the way back, and decided to stop at Petsmart, but they really didn't have any kittens. They did have this pretty cat, but it was sort of old, and unresponsive, and apparently had stomach problems...so now I'm home. Without a cat.

My parents said they're gonna try to let people know that we're looking to adopt. I hope we find one soon.

The rest of my day was okay(ish). APUSH test went well(ish)--I think I did better on this one than any of the other ones (fingers crossed)

I stayed after school so my mom could pick me up around 3. None of my other teachers were after so I stayed in my APUSH teachers room to take notes. Anyways her club was meeting after school in that room, and I'v been kind of interested in it. It's called Masterminds--and it's basically like the smartest kids in our school answer trivia questions about sports/lit/plays/politics, and since I lurveeee watching Jeopardy I've kinda been wanting to check it out, but I've always felt too intimidated. So there I was.

It was sort of comedic to watch because the kids who are actually in that club are legit brain-o-maniacs, and I would sit there stunned by the question (how could anyone possibly know this? We do not learn this shizam at school!) as they all press their buzzer (YES, buzzers! That light up and make noise) and clamor to answer the question correctly.  There are teams and they keep track of points and everything
I ended up getting pretty much no notes done, because I was too busy listening to the questions. I knew the answer to about 5, although I feel like there were 50 or 60 questions ask. Gawd I wish I was smart like that.
So um, not really the club for me haha.

Give me that rainbow brush, I wanna write your name in the sky <3

This picture is SICK.

&& si, me gusta un chico. Mucho. ;)
I'll talk about that later though, don't you worry.

Apologies, kitties, and Emo musics xx

Hey guys. Sorry for that 4 day hiatus I took there! I have this huge APUSH test that I know nothing on so I'm practically spending all weekend catching up on sleep and reading my notes

...anddd finding some new music. I've downloaded some Death Cab for Cutie, The Used, Owl City, All Time Low, Bayside, You Me at Six, Motion City Soundtrack, Angels and Airwaves, Taking Back Sunday....and I still have a lot more that I want to find. It looks like it'll take me all of Xmas break to listen to this, which is certainly fine by me :)

Well tomorrow should be fun. After my hugish AP test apparently my mom is supposed to pick my sister and I up from school to look at kittens at this vet place, and pick one out (but not take it home yet) our Hanukkah present! I am so so excited!

We haven't really come up with a name because we haven't seen the cats yet, but if you have any suggestions please please leave it in the comments box :D

As of right now I am reading this totally interesting article about thermometers (not). I also have to fill out this question sheet on it.....I hate chemistry so much. Biology last year was awesome and amazing and interesting, but chem is like huge boring naptime

zzzzzzzz

 I hate it.

Well, on a happier note, shout-out to my loverly followers! And to all who read this--if you follow me I will deffo follow you back asap ;)

Awesome

So today I was digging around my digital photo classroom, looking for a camera cos I'm terribly behind on my perspective project. I pull out a beat up box. Inside that box is a leather pouch. Inside that leather pouch was a fish-eye lens. I showed it to my teacher, he didn't even know we had it, but he was mad excited that I fund it. He put it on a camera for me and I got to take it for a test drive (although he borrowed it tonight).

Anyways I got my regular amount of crap to do. I need to write a rhetorical analysis on Thoreau's piecee, and I have a huge Chem test tomorrow so Imma peace out now!
