Thanksgiving

So as you all know, in America, we celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday. Most families celebrate the holiday by cooking a ton of food, eating it, and passing out while they watch football.  My family is a little different. Every four or five years we seem to decide to switch up our customs, so for the past two years we've been waking up at 10:30 in the morning, driving down to NYC, and meeting our mothers side of the family for dinner at an Italian Restaurant. No offense to Italians or anything, but I can't stand how all of the food tastes like salt, lemons, and vinegar.  I, being patriotic, ordered the turkey platter, and all I can say was meh.  My grandma used to make better turkey than that. Going on Facebook, I later read status's on how they all larded themselves with second and third portions. I never finished my first. I couldn't.

But then I realized that Thanksgiving is NOT about larding yourself, or feeling bad that you did NOT lard yourself. So instead of continuing to complain I am going to make a list of all the things that I am thankful for.

1. My friends- AKA the reason that I haven't dropped out of school. They make my life so much better and easier. What would I do if I had to keep all of my secrets up inside of me? They always help me. They love me, and I love them. I am extremely grateful they are part of my life.

2. My family-- I have a large immediate family, but not a large extended one. I have two sisters, a brother, and a brother in law. Most of my relatives were killed during the Holocaust and I'm glad I can live knowing that all of my siblings are still alive. Which brings me to my third.

3. Living in America-- Having lost relatives in the Holocaust, I never look down on the free country that I live in. I say the Pledge of Allegience every day at school, sometimes being the only one, with the teacher just mouthing the words.  Show that you're thankful to live in a free country, with rights to speech and religion, won't you?

4. My parents--they love me, they protect me, and they always have my back-whether its for a rogue teacher, or an insane crazy assistant principal giving me an undeserving extended detention. I am so glad they are always there for me.

....And now that I've covered all of the basics the list gets more fun!
5. Being Jewish--so that I can go to and work at my kick-ass Jew Camp! What would I do without it?

6. My brain-- I like being in honors and AP classes
7. My bed where I get to sleep comfortably
8.  All the food in my house that I cannot stop eating!

9. All the clothes and cool stuff that I see and buy
10. Harry Potter
11. Flowers that smell good.

12. Clouds---the sky would be so boring without clouds!

13. MLIA
14. Boys boys boys!!
15. Taylor Lautner....Shirtless!
16. Leaves changing in Fall....

Haha I think I'll leave it at that. I will update this post whenever I think of more...it'll be like a running list.
