Fun, fun, and more fun!

photos via my super-crappy camera in my phone ^_^

So apparently the new name for long division is fun? I actually love my math teacher! This is the second year I've had him and he's so lovable are quirky! He's sort of old, but he still dances during class, telling us old sayings (like the farmer said to the potato: I'll plant you now, I'll dig you up later!)

I also love him for raising my grade an extra point....I only lost 2 points the whole quarter (and two others for not doing a hw when I was out, but he let that slide). Now I have a 99 in math!

And a 98 in APUSH!

:D

Oh well, guess I have to finish my 'fun' soon >.>

Anyways, I got a letter in the mail today...

From Princeton!

Not acceptance or anything...just like "please consider our school...."

I was like "Me? Me? YES!"

I really do want an Ivy education, but I feel like a snob for saying that ;>>

What are you asking me for? It's not my goddamn history!

*title from a song*

So I am in a rather chipper mood! It might seem weird, since it's the first day back and I'm supposed to be all miserable and depressed.

So erm, yesterday I had to go downstate to visit my grandparents for my Grandpa's birthday. During the car ride I did my AP homework, and studied SAT vocab the coolest way ever. My English teacher had let me borrow this CD called "Rock the SAT" which is a collection of songs incorporating SAT words. Now I will never forget that "Sycophant" means "ass kisser!"

We went to a Kosher Deli, and the food there was amazing!

I'm talking turkey sandwiches, pickles, potato salad, cole slaw, french fries and Matzah Ball Soup. Did I just make you hungry?

And then we went to my grandparents apartment for dessert!

Anyways, my internal clock was totally screwed up from vacation, so I got about roughly four hours of sleep, and while I did sleep I had this horrible nightmare that freaked me out completely. I was so tired that keeping my eyes open in any sort of light made them tear x[  Nevertheless school was good.

Public Speaking is awesome! I love the class, it's so much fun. It's mainly seniors though, but I swear, some of the funniest things come out of their mouth. My teacher's pretty cool too. He used to be an actor on "All of My Children." He told us that today---cool teacher much?

But the main reason I'm in a good mood is that I had to give an oral presentation/speech for APUSH on "The Jazz Singer" (I know, the day after break. Sucks. And ICUW it was the first "talkie" film released in the 1920's) I've been having nightmares and dread all during break about it. Usually, when I give a speech, I shake so so hard and uncontrollably that I can't even read what I write.

I was shaking before my speech, but even when I delivered it, for some reason, this time I did not shake at all. I did go completely red in the face, but at least I didn't look like an earthquake! My presentation was good too. In the beginning I had a few lines on paper, sort of like subtitles, and I held it up for the class to read like a silent picture, which I thought would make my presentation more interesting!

Lots of comments on the Lourdes picture. The picture I took didn't quite capture how similar we look. It actually scares me to the core how much she looks like me, and her facial expression etc...I never even heard of her since a couple of days ago!

Feel free to Form Spring Me if you want to get to know me better!

Grrr frustration

So today was the wrap-up of a six-class long survivor activity. In AP US, my teacher made challenges based off of the information we were learning and kept a tally for points. The challenges were so much fun, and I ended up coming in second. I'm sort of frustrated though because the winners from the two classes (because there are two APUSH classes) compete for Ultimate and Runner up for actual bonus points. I was so close. If I had won I would've been guaranteed 10 points on my next test (which would help me out a lot). Anyways, all grade-frustration aside, I am kinda proud for coming in 2nd. I'm really not that good at history, and there are people in my class so much smarter, so I take it as a personal victory. :] Oh yes, the positive spin. I'm trying to keep my life "Sonny" lol

I'm also frustrated in my photo class. I swear for like the entire month of December we didn't do ANYTHING, and 4 classes before the end of the semester, my teacher gives us two huge projects--including a research paper AND powerpoint as well as the photos. And what pisses me off even more is that he keeps changing the criterea--first we need 3 collages, ten images, then 5 need natural lighting. So I did that. THEN he tells me that 5 MUST be done with "stage lighting" so now all the ones that I spent my precious time doing at home (like HE suggested we do) were pointless. I want to punch a wall.....

And now for the fun stuff!!

More "Portrait Project" images:

Studio lighting:

&& Apparently there are 4 kids at my school who also have Panda Hats? I've had mine since September...I guess that makes me a trend-setter!

Non-Studio Lighting?

I have a LOT more, but these are just the highlights.
I also have natural lighting ones, but I guess I'll post those later!

Other Stuff

A portrait of my sister

Picture of some icicles I took....when I was locked outside of my house for 45 minutes. I forgot my key. Fail on my part....

I freakin love my cats.

Speaking of cats, Nemo (not the one in the picture) fell asleep on me last night while I was (attempting to) study for my chem test :) And his official name has been changed to Captain Nemo, from 20,000 leagues Under the Sea. I have never read it, but my Grandpa suggested it. I think it's adorable.

&& fun weekend! NAWT.  I will be spending the next three days: Outlining four essays, writing 3 papers, making a photo collage, studying for my APUSH test, Math lab, APUSH, math, and chem midterms, AND my English regents. So in short my life will suck for the next two weeks >.<

Keep your lives Sonny guys!
Peace out.
